Restoring Hope


On Saturday 23 June, Football United-UniSA and local community partners including Uniting Communities, the Association of Burundian Communities of SA, Youth Jet, Munno Para City Soccer Club and OPAL organised a Community Football Challenge in the City of Playford to celebrate Refugee Week.

Advances in Coaching

Over the last couple of weeks, Football United Head Coaches Ibrahim Kamara, Simon Bell and Stuart Meney attended the first stage of Football Australia's Advanced Coaching Course. The course, held at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra, covered a wide range of skills including planning, management, match day, and football conditioning.

Strategy for Asia

SFW group

Football United were honoured to be part of the streetfootballworld Asian network members Development through Football conference held in Sydney in April. The network members shared their experiences and opened discussion for a joint strategy in the region.

Strong Women, Strong World


Football United celebrated International Women's Day 2012 at Auburn Girls High School in Sydney, running workshops, a guest panel and, of course, a football tournament.

Harmony Day(s)


The theme for Harmony Day 2012 was Sport. "Play, engage, inspire and recognises the important role and positive influence that sport has in our multicultural nation". It could almost have been written for Football United! We celebrated Harmony Day with a number of special activities in Fairfield, Blacktown and Liverpool, as well as the grand finale: the Sydney FC Harmony Day game.
